How I manage Matched Betting as a stay at home mum

How I Fit Matched Betting into My Day

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a stay-at-home mum. I have one child in school full time, and the other in preschool three days a week and with me the rest of the time. This can make things a little tricky for doing matched betting, as I find I really need to pay attention. So you probably want to know how I fit matched betting into my day? I’ll tell you.

How often do I do matched betting?

I try to stick to doing matched betting on the three days my youngest is in preschool.

The main reason is because I can pay attention and concentrate. If you have lots of offers going on, you need to keep track of where everything is. The matched betting site I use (Outplayed.com) has a profit tracker where you can keep a log of your money. However, like your bank accounts, you still need to keep your money logs updated and cross-reference everything. Of course, this takes time and concentration (on top of placing your bets).

When do I do matched betting?

Matched betting has to be one of the most lucrative ways to make money. But you still need to be organised and allocate a regular time to it to keep on top of it all. It’s a bit like a job, like mystery shopping or tasks via your mobile phone. You need to concentrate and fit it in to your day with a routine that works for you.

For me, I find that my concentration levels are at their peak in the morning, so I do it after the school run. Some people find that they need to work on it in the morning before everyone else is up (Miracle Morning, anyone?). Yet others may find that they work best in the evening. I know of some parents who do matched betting once the kids are in bed, and place their bets for the following day. Personally, I resemble something of a zombie by about 8 o’clock with my eyes rolling back in my head. So that doesn’t work for me.

So, as soon as I’m back from the school run, I hang up my washing. I boil the kettle and make a cuppa. Then I make sure I’m in my seat by 9:30.

How much time does matched betting take me?

I allocate an hour of my morning to my matched betting procedures and to place my bets. This might not seem like much, but it’s regular, and it’s routine. This morning, for example, I had a few settled bets to catch up on and I like to ensure I’m not missing any money. That took just over half an hour. That left me enough time to place a free bet that had settled, and a risk-free horse-racing bet for Cheltenham. That should make me around £20 for the day – not bad for an hour’s work.

If I have any time left over, I’ll look ahead to the next offers available, and begin watching any training videos that I need to brush up on.

How much do I earn from matched betting?

At the moment I’m not earning a great deal from it, simply because I haven’t been committing to it as I did in the beginning. I’ve been caught up in the buzz of Cheltenham this week, and considering I only placed a couple of bets early on this month (March), I’ve now made £71 that I wouldn’t otherwise have had, through committing to an hour a day.

January was my best month where I made just under £200 from spending an hour a day, three times a week, straight from the school run. Since then I’ve been trialling different times to work on it so I could concentrate on my other commitments. But it just wasn’t working for me. Our family dynamic is chaotic at the best of times, and I need a routine I can stick to that works for me.
